William Bourassa Bennett, a versatile and accomplished music producer, composer, and audio engineer, has made significant strides in the music and film scoring industry. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, William has built a career that spans across various facets of music production, including composition, arrangement, mixing, and sound engineering.​His journey in music began at the Berklee College of Music, where he pursued a dual major in Music Production & Engineering and Film Scoring, with a minor in Videogame Scoring, graduating Magna cum Laude with a GPA of 3.86 and making the Dean’s List.

 

His academic achievements include the Berklee Writing and Composition Scholarship and the Gary Ogan Endowed Scholarship. Furthering his education, William attended USC Thornton, completing a Master's degree in Screen Scoring with an impressive GPA of 3.95, during which he became a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. This educational foundation has not only honed his skills but also expanded his understanding and passion for music in media.​William's professional journey is marked by his roles at notable establishments such as Bleeding Fingers Music and Overstory Ltd.

 

At Bleeding Fingers, he worked as a composer's assistant, contributing to various projects, including co-composing music for BBC's "Planet Earth 3". At Overstory Ltd., he served as a score mix assistant, where he organized audio tracks for mixing and undertook additional orchestration work.​His career as a composer for films, video games, and concert music began in 2014. Notable projects include composing for the French-Canadian financial documentary series "Liberté", the indie feature film "Let’s Meet Halfway", and led as the principal composer on the Spanish horror game "Impasto". He also produced a song for emerging artist Morgane.

 

His skills as a mixing and mastering engineer have been instrumental in producing soundtracks and music libraries, contributing to his reputation as a detailed and proficient audio professional.​William's work extends to arranging and orchestrating music, evidenced by his work for Berklee’s Theatre Arts Collaborative’s musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s "The Tempest," among other projects.
